Operation North State (ONS) was founded in December 2010. It’s a 501 c3 non-profit (ALL VOLUNTEER) veterans support services organization that hosts recreational outings (fishing, golf, cycling, snow tubing, go-karting, first aid classes, special events, annual kickoff dinner, etc.) and hosts its NCCARES Christmas Box Project – now in its 16th season. ONS hosts wounded warriors/DVets, veterans-in-need and NCNG service members. For 2025, ONS expects to host sixty-seven (73) “unique” projects within North Carolina. Additionally, in 2025, ONS will host around (160) fishing and golf outings for wounded warriors/DVets throughout the state. Dozens of wounded warriors/DVets attend our events from North Carolina’s neighboring states.
Operation North State
In 2025, ONS will host its Sixteenth Annual NCCARES Christmas Box Project - utilizing North Carolina’s People, Places, Products and Pride to deliver 1500 NCCARES Christmas Boxes to North Carolina's shut-in veterans. And our SEVEN (7) Top Shelf Fishin' Festivals held throughout the state are unmatched anywhere in the country! These “much-needed” recreational therapy outings offer life-changing experiences for our wounded warriors/DVets and their respective caregivers. The Fishin’ Festivals are FREE to wounded warriors/DVets and there is no Entry Fee for our Host Boaters. Also in 2025, ONS will continue to offer Foursomes for DVets and Cycling Heals – Vets Connect outings.
